Heb. 6:13-19 ? ?For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself,  v14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. v15  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.  v16  For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. v17  Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: v18  That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: v19  Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;?

It is important to understand the different between a Covenant and a Promise.

When God makes a promise, we have to put our faith in that promise for it to come to pass.                                                                                                          Heb 6:12 - ??but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises? (Also Heb 11:33).

However, when God makes a Covenant, it WILL come to pass, whether we believe it or not!                                         God cannot lie, and when He takes an Oath, He always does what He says.                                                                     Covenant is up to God, not up to us.                                                                                                                                                  This Covenant was cut within the Trinity, with no human influence or intervention, but purely out of the heart of LOVE of God towards us? ?He sware by Himself,?                                                                                                                                                              God took away the law of Moses, cancelling the written code that stood opposed to us:

Col. 2:14,15 ? ?Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; v15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. ? ?                                                                                                                                                               In the Old covenant, which is based on the law of Moses, it was all based on what YOU had to do and not do?

Just count the number of times the phrase ?you shall not?..? appears in Exodus 20  where the Ten Commandments were given.

Compare this with the New covenant of BLESSING-FAVOUR where the Lord says:

Heb. 8:7-13 ? ?For if that first covenant had been faultless , then no place would have been sought for a second.

v.8 Because finding fault with them, He says: ?Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a NEW covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah v.9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. v.10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts (this means God will give us the desire to please Him and have fellowship with Him, to seek His heart for us); and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. v.11 None of them shall teach his neighbour, and none his brother, saying, ?Know the LORD,? for all   shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. v.12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.?  v.13 In that He says, ?A new covenant, ? He has made the first obsolete.?

The Old covenant of law is based on ?you shall not?? you shall not?? you shall not???  while the New covenant of BLESSING-FAVOUR is the Lord saying, ?I will?? I will?? I will???

The Old Covenant was up to you, but the New Covenant is up to GOD?up to the FINISHED WORK on the Cross of Calvary!                                                                                                                                                                                               The emphasis and demand of the covenant of law is on your performing, while the emphasis and demand of the covenant of Blessing-Favour is on God Himself performing!

Jesus has already died on the cross for us, He has already done everything on our behalf 2000 years ago!

Christianity is ?done, done, done,? not ?do, do, do.?

Jesus came to establish the New covenant of BLESSING-FAVOUR!

RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE COVENANTS

The good news is that we are no longer under the requirements of the Old covenant.

Through Jesus? Finished work, we are now under the New covenant, and in this covenant, we are blessed not because we are good or because we do good.

We are blessed because Jesus is good, and He made us good and accepted by washing away all our sins with His own blood!

The Bible says: ?He who knew no sin became sin? - (2 Cor. 5:21)

Jesus committed no sin, but the past, present and future sins of humanity were all collectively punished on His body!

He knew no sin, but He was punished for our sins.

Sin has been judged at the cross of Jesus!

When Christ died on the cross, you weren?t even born yet.  You weren?t even an idea to your parents!!

All your sins were thus ?future? sins.

So ALL your sins have been forgiven, and it was accomplished through ONE sacrifice, by ONE MAN. (Heb.9:26/10:14)

Jesus? finished work is outside of time.

God?s definition of ?ALL? is not limited by time and space the way man?s definition of ?ALL? is.                                 When God said ?ALL?, He really meant ALL!!!!

Understand that Jesus does not have to be crucified again for your future sins.

They were ALL forgiven at the cross as well!!!!

Ezek. 16:62-63  - ?And I will establish My covenant with you. Then you shall know that I am the LORD ??when I provide you an atonement for all you have done,? says the Lord GOD.??

Jesus? blood was the atonement:

Matt 26:28 ? ?For this is My blood of the NEW covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.?

IT IS DONE!!!                                                                                                                                                                                          IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS, HIS SHED BLOOD ON THE CROSS AND HIS FINISHED WORK ON CALVARY!

THROUGH CHRIST YOU HAVE THE  BLESSING-FAVOUR COVENANT WITH GOD!
