Man has tried to know his creator through intellectual means, but this has proven impossible because God can be known only through revelation. In fact, He has always desired for us to know Him intimately and to experience His attributes, strengths, and virtues. This is why He sent us His Holy Spirit. No person has the mental ability to describe the infinite or the eternal. However, I will try to present a basic and uncomplicated description that will help you to understand Him in human terms.

Who is God?

God is a spiritual, eternal, and immutable being with supernatural attributes and abilities. He dwells in the dimension of eternity ? the spiritual realm ? and manifests in visible form in the natural dimension.

For thus says the high and lofty One?He Who inhabits eternity ? Isaiah 57:15 AMP.

What is revelation?

In Greek, ?revelation? is the word apokalypsis which means ?laying bare, making naked?, a disclosure of truth, instruction concerning things before unknown.? This expression is used, mostly, to express something that exists in the spiritual realm, and it expresses ?spiritual perception.? Revelation means to suddenly understand something without research or natural means of learning.

Revelation

Revelation is the knowledge of God revealed to or spirits, and it is received by spiritually seeing, hearing, and perceiving. This process is referred to as ?spiritual perception?. Revelation allows you to suddenly understand something without the aid of the natural senses.

For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven ? Matthew 16:17 AMP.

To receive revelation from God is to see as He sees, to hear as He hears, and to perceive

as He perceives.

Revelation includes knowing things that you should not know, seeing things that have yet to occur, and perceiving things without prior knowledge. It is the mind of God revealed so that mankind can exercise dominion over time, space, and matter.

In the absence of progressive divine revelation, people tend to turn to formal, natural, intellectual education, much of which serves to discredit faith. Intellectual knowledge has its rightful place in society, but it is a poor substitute for spiritual knowledge.

Who is the Source of Revealed Knowledge?

The source of all revelation is the Holy Spirit. He is the only channel that gives us access to God?s revealed wisdom or knowledge. The Holy Spirit hears what is said in heaven and repeats it to men and women on earth. We cannot know God without the help of the Holy Spirit.

How did the Apostle Paul handle natural knowledge?

Yet when we are among the full-grown (spiritually mature Christians who are ripe in understanding), we do impart a [higher] wisdom (the knowledge of the divine plan previously hidden); but it is indeed not a wisdom of this present age or of this world nor of the leaders and rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing and are doomed to pass away. 7But rather what we are setting forth is a wisdom of God once hidden [from the human understanding] and now revealed to us by God?[that wisdom] which God devised and decreed before the ages for our glorification [to lift us into the glory of His presence] ? 1 Corinthians 2:6-7 AMP.

Philosophy is a science based on a love of wisdom that is obtained from the natural environment. Paul, upon his return to the church in Corinth, he emphatically expressed that he had returned in God?s power and not in human wisdom. Paul understood that human wisdom and philosophy were incapable of producing the supernatural power required to preach the gospel or to manifest God?s power.

God?s Wisdom

The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints), 27 To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory ? Colossians 1:26-27 AMP.

The wisdom of our Lord Jesus Christ is to share His secrets through the cross.

What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed] ? 1 Corinthians 2:9 AMP.

The natural senses alone cannot perceive the revealed wisdom or knowledge of God.

Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man?s scrutiny]. 11 For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man?s thoughts except the man?s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God ? 1 Corinthians 2:10-11 AMP.

4 Truths that can be known only through revelation:

The nature of God

The nature of man

The origin of man

The origin of life

These truths cannot be fully discovered through scientific, natural, psychological, psychiatric, or philosophical means. Scientists and avid students seek to use only mental processes and the systematic collection of information acquired through the natural senses. Within such limitations, they have no choice but to deny God because their workable knowledge does not allow them to accept Him. Sensory knowledge cannot explain the origin of creation or the beginning of matter, and it lacks valid answers to the great ?whys? of humanity. Scientists have developed diverse theories on the origin of life and the nature of God. They have written countless volumes on the subject, all derived from the same restrictive resources. Formal education has contributed to the destruction of the faith of millions of young people who were raised and trained to recognize and accept that which they can see, feel, decipher, and explain with their physical senses and intellect.

The only way to know God and to relate to His supernatural and invisible realm is by faith.

God is always the one who chooses to reveal Himself to us; thus, we must depend solely on Him. If God had not chosen to reveal Himself, we never would have known Him.

God?s Revelation depends on:

God?s time

God?s will

God said that in the last days, knowledge would increase (see Daniel 12:3-4) because it is His will to fill the earth with His glory. (See Numbers 14:21.) I believe that we are living in those last days, days in which the manifestation of His glory will be evident everywhere.

Your faith will be strongest in the area in which you have the greatest revealed knowledge from God. Likewise, your faith will be weakest where you lack revelation or have little of it.

The enemy establishes a stronghold where God?s knowledge and revelation do not exist.

What are the 2 Realms that Exist?

The natural realm

The supernatural realm

What is the natural realm? It is the dimension that is subject to the time, space, and matter, a dimension that can be accessed only through the physical senses.

What is the supernatural realm? It is the dimension that operates above natural laws. It is the spiritual realm ? permanent, invisible, and eternal ? located outside of time. It exercises dominion over the natural realm. The spiritual realm can be accessed only by faith.

Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting ? 2 Corinthians 4:18 AMP.
